When "What If" Happens

Wednesday the 28th started out as any normal day for us. We got the boys ready for school. We decided to walk them to the bus stop together. After they left, Paul decided that he wanted to do some repairs on the car. We had been trying to get it to pass safety and emission for like two months now haha. I helped him move the truck forward so he could pull it into our garage. Then I went in and got Betty down for a nap. I decided to go play on the computer for a while, and Paul came down and stole the heater from me. About a half hour later I heard yelling coming from upstairs. So I ran to the stairs and all I could hear was "Call 911!" I thought that he had cut something off, because he said he was going to be using his grinder. So I grab my cell and dial 911, "What's the problem" and all I can do is say "I dont know" because I cannot find Paul anywhere. Finally I hear him on the stairs going up to the bedrooms, I run over and he is standing on the stairs yelling "Grab Betty Grab Betty" and I asked if he cut himself "No The House is on fire! Get Betty out!" I tell the 911 operator that the house is on fire and I grab Betty, our little squirrel and The dog and I run out of the house. I have no shoes, no coat, I grabbed Betty's coat from the couch as I was running out. I put her coat on her and I tell the 911 operator we are all out. She asks if anyone is hurt and I go to say no, and Paul starts yelling that he is burned. I start freaking out and try to get him to sit down, I make sure he is no longer on fire, but he wont sit down, he keeps pacing from one side of the house to the other. Finally an officer arrives on scene, the officer turns out to be Paul and I's friend Candice's brother, he is able to calm Paul down enough to get him to sit. The ambulance arrives, and we run over and get Paul in there. I call my sister Samantha and then Paul's mom, and finally the fire department comes and Paul gets sent to American Fork. I wait around to see what damage there is. No damage to the house itself. The Samurai is burnt to a crisp. Paul gets sent up to the U of U with 2nd degree burns on his left arm. He only had to spend that night in there, thank god though.

For those of you who know Paul has a neromusclar disorder and has a hard time getting up from the floor. Some of you have even witnessed him getting up from the floor. It is not an easy process. He was laying UNDER the car when the fire started, he was able to get offf the floor and out of the garage pretty darn quickly. Its Crazy! I still cannot wrap my mind around it.

I'll have to post Paul's side of the story another day. I just get chills when he tells it. We almost lost him. Someone was defiantly with him. I just am still in shock. I do not know how he got out from under the car before his whole body ignited.

Just a warning, Paul's arm picture is pretty nasty. So if you are faint at heart. I suggest not looking. I have a panic attack every-time I have to change his dressing.

HOLY MOLY!

WHAT A FREAKING PAIN IN THE BEHIND! So I just went through all this trouble of redoing Aidan's background page on here, because I could not for the life of me figure out how to get my text to stay inside the little area. I upload the new page, still having the same troubles, I change a few numbers around and WALL-LA! It's fixed. After I figure that out, I decide to try out the old background, it works! But I am not all that satisfied, so I mess around for a few more minutes, give up and click save template, then I view my blog and it looks ten times better than the Preview?! Shouldn't the preview show you exactly how its gonna look? GOSH!! But everythings good now haha.

Betty has been reminding me so much of myself as a kid. Like from what I've seen of myself in home movies and what not. movies no one will ever ever ever see. She is so dramatic in her pretend play. Last night we were watching Rock of Love Bus. haha I know I know... They kept playing commercials for cds of the old rock bands, when they were all dramatic with their facial expressions and that. For the rest of the night she kept like singing and doing the really dramatic facial expression. Oh man Paul and I were dying. We were trying not to laugh because we didn't want her to stop, but it was just too freaking funny.

I am sad to say that once again my plan was foiled. Samuel and Aidan woke up at 2am! and thought it was time to play. Samuel is good, you tell him to go get back in his bed and he wont bother you for a while. Aidan on the other hand kept coming in and waking me up every 5-10minutes "I wanna tell you something" This is there way of staying up for a few extra minutes. Like how kids will ask for water, my kids say "I wanna tell you something". So then they started fighting over a stupid toy really loud. I was afraid they were going to wake up Betty, who was asleep in her room for like the first time in a week! So I get up and I threaten to take all their stuff away if they came out of there room again before the sun was up, then I shut their door. Paul said all was quite when he left for work, and Betty was the one who came and woke me up at like 7ish. I didn't see the boys again til almost 8. Needless to say, I was way to exhausted to go down and get my camera. I did a little later though, and I took some pictures of Betty helping me get ready for the day. And She is doing some of those dramatic singing faces I was talking about earlier. And she is wearing a tutu and a shower cap haha. These are going to be some good blackmail pictures some day (evil laugh)

Just in case you were wondering, we were listening to "Shut Up And Let Me Go"By The Ting Tings.

Then there is Samuel, who is very accident prone today. We were all heading downstairs so I could practice Sam's flash cards with him, and then get him bundled up for the bus stop. He was scooting down on his butt, he turns to say something to me, while he is still scooting, and next thing I know he flops over on his stomach and slides face and stomach first down the last 4 steps. Then after that trauma, I have no clue what Betty was doing but some how she tripped right as Samuel was leaning down to pick something up and they slammed heads. Betty has rug burn on her nose and chin and Samuel has a huge goose egg and his eye brow is all red and swollen. Then while we were waiting for the bus, he was walking down the driveway of the house where the bus stop is and slid bringing one leg up above his head and the other straight down, and cracking his head on the ground. Luckily he had his heavy coat, backpack and beanie on, so that didn't hurt. But he said his leg hurt. I almost kept him home. Poor kid gots his momma in him!

And Aidan. Well Aidan is Aidan. Haha. He is being his usual into everything trouble maker self. He did get himself dressed for me today though, so that was a plus. He is tired and cranky today. Like he woke up at 2 in the morning or something. haha.

I never knew sibling riverly until I met Aidan and Betty. These too fight over everything and nothing. They are fighting over who gets to sit on my lap rightnow. The only time they don't fight is when Samuel is around. Needless to say, all my kids are going to be in bed by 8:30 tonight like it or not. And I cannot wait until tomorrow where for 3 blissful hours, I have one kid! Woot Woot. haha.

It's just one of those days...

Ever had one of those days, where you had all these plans, and nothing worked out the way you wanted??? Well today was one of those days haha. I have wanted to do a post for each of the kids called "a day in the life" I was basically just gonna follow one of the kids around and take pictures, make notes ya know all that fun stuff. We have family that doesn't really get to spend all that much time with them, and I thought it would help them to get to know them a little better. Today I was going to do Betty, but my batteries were half dead. So i got a few shots of her, but not really. After I realized that my batteries were dead, I decided I'd just clean our upstairs. Everythings going great, I get everything cleared up and ready to vacuum. I go to vacuum and its clogged! So i spend like 10 or so minutes unclogging it, there was nothing even in it to clog it! anyways. I vacuum half the room and the dang belt breaks! So Yeah.. The song on my blog is how I have felt allllll month!

Here are some picture to hold you guys over until tomorrow. I AM DETERMINED TO DO GET IT DONE!

Morning Sillies

already with the mood swings?

This is how Betty watches tv

welp I really hope things work out Better Tomorrow! Because as you can see, she is a DOLL and it should be entertaining. I know we find her quite the crack up around here.

Girls day out ending with a Birthday Party

So yesterday I went with my friend Brea to the Successful Mothering Convention at the Southtowne Expo Center. We walked around to the booths and that, but it wasn't that exciting. After we left we headed over to the Draper outlet mall (Or VF Factory Outlet) we wondered around there for awhile. It was so nice to just be out without the kids, and just enjoy shopping and the company of another mother and wife! After I got back Paul, the kids and I went to my niece Dylan's birthday party at classic skating. It was actually a lot of fun. The boys didn't skate but they got to play some games with daddy. I actually did skate, and I took Betty around in her little stroller. She was having a grand time, until my niece Chelsea took the stroller from me, and we both ended up biffing it big time. I actually fell right infront of Betty, so then she was freaked out and didn't want to go around anymore. So we went and joined Paul and the boys, we won some prizes and then came home. I bought Betty a big pink TuTu while I was out with Brea. But when I got home she would not put it on. But when we got home from the Party she let me put her it on her. SHE WAS THRILLED! She would not take it off, and even slept in it haha. I will have to take some pictures of her later. I'll also have to post some pictures of Classic skating when my sister emails them to me. SO all that will be later..

I made a background for Aidan. But I am having technical difficulties with it, So it will be up another day haha.. His birthday is on the 3rd of Feburary. (He will be 4!!) But since Samuels birthday is a week later and then Valentines day. I am putting it up now. That way he has it up for more than just a day or two.

"Robot Robot Robot"

Ever feel as if your life has been put on repeat?

The same things happening everyday. or night in our case?
Well that is how I have felt for the last few days. Maybe its because we went from the holiday season, doing everything from shopping to family parties. To now nothing. Or maybe its because our kids have really whacked out their sleeping schedule, in turn whacking out mine.
One night everyone will be in bed at 9pm... Sleeping through the night. (I have heard angels sing I have) Next night no one is bed until 10pm only to end up in bed with mom and dad at 12:30am, 2:30am and 4:30am. Next night everyone is in bed by 8:30pm only to end up in bed with mom and dad at 10:30, 12am, 3:30am.. you get the gist. And it is not as if they come and climb in bed and fall back to sleep. OH NO. they scream and cry and wake up the other kids in bed, and fight and kick and pull hair trying to get comfortable.

This makes for a very robotic mother. I do not know what is the deal. Same bed time routine, same everything. But they just cannot get back to their old ways. And now.. Everyone is starting to get sick. Betty woke up with a fever today, and has not stopped crying and whining since she woke up. Paul called and is going into the doctors because he is not feeling well. and Aidan passes out on the couch while waiting for his bus to come.

I am just a little at my wits end. just a little. my hair is falling out. but no grays.

It seriously feels like someone has hit the repeat button on my life. Everyday I wake up to Betty "Mom Mom Mom" tapping my face with her little hand, look at the clock "3 hrs? really? 3hrs is all I get?" I get up. get the boys hooked up. find clothes for them for the day. fight for half hour to get kids dressed. fight all day to keep Betty dressed. Get samuel off to school. break up fights between Aidan and Betty until finally 2:30 comes and Brooklyn comes to relieve me. I get on the computer for a few minutes to check email and things of that nature. I get Samuel from the bus. Spend the rest of the night explaining to him why it is inpolite to play video games when your cousin is here to play. Breaking up fights. finally 7pm hits. Bathtime. Book Time. Movie time. 8:45ish Sleep time? ohhh no. no sleep time. Betty wont let me leave her side, when she is about asleep, Aidan comes in to "Tell me something" waking her up and Samuel cries because Aidan keeps turning on the light. Finally Betty passes out cold. I try my hardest to get off her bed with out waking her up. Every creek and moan of the bed and floor boards sounds like it is a jet taking off. But I make it to the door, I start closing it just a little. "MooooooommmmaaaA" I have to go and sit on the edge of her bed for another 10minutes. Finally I make it out. Samuel is passed out. Aidan however wants "Mac and Cheese" No mac and cheese go to sleep! I make it to my bed. get in. all comfy. drifting slowly "MOM I WANT MAC AND CHEESE" "AIDAN GO TO SLEEP RIGHT NOW!" Biting my tongue, please say I did not just wake up Betty..... Silence.. Thank you.. just start drifting off.. MOM THERES A BAD SHOW ON... AIDAN GO TO SLEEP! I give up. Send Paul into deal with Aidan... As he is talking SO FREAKING LOUD! I throw the covers and storm as quitely as I can over to thier room and scold Paul for being loud. I tell Aidan if he does not stop yelling for us, I will have to shut the door. I go back to bed, and finally 12am... I am able to drift off to sleep. 2:30 i hear her. please let her just go back to sleep please... i wait, no foot steps, false alarm... 3am crying she pads her little way into our room, shoves me off my pillow and nestles in for the rest of the night. Only shes not sleepy. oh no. and Mommy cannot go to sleep either. everytime my eyes shut "MOM MOM MOM!" and so... when she finally passes out about 6amish. I am able to get a few more hours. 3 uninterrupted hours of sleep. Before Aidan and Samuel come arguing into my room and wake her up.. and It starts allllll over again.

So this is why I have not posted. nothing interesting. just the same stuff. differnt day.

Movie Night

Oh my we had fun last night. We rented the movie Wall-E and then we went and got some popcorn, Marshmallow popcorn, it was so good, it tasted like rice crispies. Then we let the kids get some special cups, and rootbeer and we got M&M's and some other snacks. came home and climbed in our bed and the kids all had their own little popcorn bowl. Aidan ate like 3 bowls full, then he ate Samuels and most of Bettys popcorn. Which may be SHOCKING for some of you. But lately the boys have been eating by mouth like crazy. The last couple of nights they have ate enough that we let them go with out getting hooked up. It's exciting I tell ya!
We loved the movie, it was so cute. and even though Wall-E is a boy, he reminded us so much of Betty that lately we have been calling her Wall-E. But yeah, it is the cutest little love story ever.

The kids had so much fun. That we decided we are probably going to do this every saturday. And even this Wednesday.

Hard Times

Today is my moms birthday...
Happy Birthday Mom.
I love and miss you more than ever...
She would be 51 today.

There will never be anyone else like her.
It kills me inside to know my kids will not get to know her in person.
and that I will never get the chance to hear my kids call her "Grammie."

This my mom and Samuel.
She died when He was a month old.

The song that I am putting on my blog
reminds me of her.

Sibling Riverly=Shiners

Aidan has become obsessed with Samuel playing the Batman Lego game on the playstation. So much that last night when Samuel decided he didn't want to play anymore, Aidan threw a book at Samuels face. Poor guy...

But before all that drama, mom got bored and took some pictures of the kids. I think they turned out pretty cute.

Betty is the hardest kid to photograph I SWEAR! she will not hold still. The two pictures I got of her, she was running in one and the other I was chasing her with the camera while she rolled on the floor. She tries to copy me in what i am doing, So when I want her to stand she wont because I am sitting, and then when I got her to sit in a cute postion I had to lay down to get the angle I wanted, and SHE LAID Down, so yeah. Its a pain!!!

It's been nice getting back into routine with the kids going to school, and I've even improved on the routine some, so homework gets done before bedtime instead of before school, and kids are in bed by 8pm for betty and 9 for the boys. Although one thing has been naptime for Betty, she just wont get back into the swing of things. Usually I get her down for a nap after Samuel leaves for school, but lately she just wont go, she is so freaking cranky and just goes around bossing and screeching at people and crying over everything. It's really driving me crazy.

Samuel is really happy to be back to school. He loves being able to see all his friends again. He is getting so good at his reading, writing and spelling. He has been in such a helpful mood lately. He gets his own bag ready, hooks himself up and starts his own pump. He has also started helping Aidan get hooked in and starts his pump. He also helps Aidan get dressed, He starts the bathtub. I check the water before I let them get in, but our tap is pretty self explainatory. it has red for hot and blue for cold, and samuel knows where to turn it too so its just right. And he is the peace keeper in this house. He spent the night at my sisters, and the whole time he was gone, Aidan and Betty fought! It was nerve racking. I can't believe in just a few short weeks, he is going to be 6!!

Aidan is not as enthusdiastic about going to school. But I think once he gets there he will remember how much fun it is. He has been crying most the morning "I just want to stay home with you mom" and if it was just regular preschool I would be for contemplating just pulling him out. But he recieves speech, ot and pt through it. So it is a must! and its only two times a week, so I think he will survive. He has started to hook himself in, although sometimes he wont unhook himself which makes no sense lol. He has become absolutely obsessed with batman, if you couldn't tell from Samuels shiner... Almost every morning he climbs into bed with me and holds my hand. Betty is slowly getting over the whole "My mommy no one else can touch her" thing and so he is really relishing being able to snuggle me. He loves his picture to be taken. He begs me everyday to take one. I have a million of him on my phone lol. He loves to do weird poses and then look at them. Its really cute.

Betty TALKS like crazy! And you really have to watch what you say around her, because she will pick it up the first time you say it. AND SHE WILL REPEAT IT!! She sometimes comes out with two and three word sentences its crazy. She loves to have twinkle twinkle sung to her, and she only knows one word "How" and she will say it the whole time you are singing it to her. She likes to steal her brothers toys.. not to play with. She just steals them and hides them in her closet.. She is definatly the princess. She is very good at taking direction, as long as she isn't tired and cranky. and she LOVES her baby dolls, if you can't tell by the pictures lol. She actually took that doll from my sisters house, and my sister came to pick up her daughter, Betty took it over to her and my sister was all "Oh where did you get this doll?" and Betty pointed to me and I went "I didnt take it, you did" and she got all embarassed and was hiding her face, It was so funny. I have been working with her on keeping her clothes on. Betty thinks she constantly needs to be naked, and will strip naked 5mins after you dress her. Which is fine when we are home, but kindof embarrassing when you go to someones house and she comes back from playing with kid s and has no shirt or no pants or both off. So when we are at home, If she takes something off, I put it right back on her, and tell her to leave it on...

Oh I almost forgot! You have to see these pictures.. Betty is such a ham..

Too freaking cute I tell ya.
