At The Bone Doc's

We had to wait clear til Wednesday to get in to see the specialist for Betty's arm. I was sure they weren't going to cast it. When we got there they sent us down for X-rays, so once again I was stuck to wait in the waiting room, while Paul took her back. But she was so brave! She didn't cry at all, and She held real still for the tech. We headed back up to the doctors office and the nurse got all the stuff ready in case the doctor decided to cast it. Betty picked out a neon pink color. After a good 20mins of waiting he finally came in the room. He looked at her cast and asked how she broke it, then he decided she would be getting a cast. So I sat with her in the chair and they unwrapped her little arm, she started scratching it. And then they started to wrap it. She was SOOOOO good. The doctor and nurse kept commenting on how well she was doing with it. They said that usually by this time the younger kids were screaming and pretty upset. Not Betty she just sat there and intently watched them. (She's going to be a doctor when she grows up.) After the doctor was done, Betty said "Thank You" it was so cute. As we were leaving the clinic she was holding her arm out so that everyone could see her pretty pink cast.

The doctor says she should on have to wear it for two weeks.
She has not slowed down at all since getting it. Although it does make for an interesting bath time!

This was our first attempt...

Way to exhausting for mommy. So as I was washing out a pink tub that you get from the hospital, it dawns on me how deep the kitchen sink is.

SOOOO MUCH EASIER

And I think she likes it too

17 weeks

ONLY 161 days to go.

Well it finally happened!!!
My little belly popped!
now when I lay on my back and suck my stomach in
You can see the little bulge!
it's quite cute if I do say so my self.
Babies movements are becoming more frequent and noticeable
But Paul is still unable to feel them.

Whats going on in baby's world.
17 Weeks Pregnant

How Big is the Baby at 17 Weeks Pregnant?
Baby is 5.1 inches by pregnancy week 17 and weighs almost 5 ounces! About the size of an onion

If you were to hold your baby at 17 weeks pregnant,
she would fit snuggly in the palm of your hand.

Baby's Development at Week 17 of Pregnancy

At 17 weeks pregnant, the rapid growth in baby begins to slow down.
During this week baby will start to produce "brown fat," which has been shown to help heat production and metabolism later in life. Other changes that are occurring in baby around 17 weeks of pregnancy include the following:
  • White fatty material, called myelin, begins to enclose the nerve fibers of the spinal cord.
  • Lanugo (a soft, fine hair) covers baby's shoulders, back, and temples.
  • baby's lungs are beginning to "breathe" the amniotic fluid (although the placenta will still supply the necessary oxygen until he or she is born).
  • The circulatory and urinary systems are working.
  • The reflexes are quickly developing. These reflexes will allow your baby to swallow, suck, and blink.

Betty Broke Her Arm!

It started out a Sunday like any other. Except we all piled in the car to head to Ikea for a bit. After our fun/exhausting time there. We headed home. At home the boys got hooked up, Bai and Brooklyn were playing some where, Sami was in her room, I was on the computer upstairs and Paul was sitting downstairs on the computer with Betty. I all of sudden just hear her screaming. So I run down the stairs and Paul meets me half way with Betty in her arms. She was climbing around on the back of the couches. (Something she has gotten in trouble for a million times before) and fell off. Betty is tough little kid, and usually all it takes is a hug and a kiss and a snuggle and shes ready to get going again. But I couldn't get her to stop crying. I took her in her room and put her on her bed. She kept holding her side, so I was going to take her shirt off and watch her for a little while, but when I lifted her arm she SCREAMED. I knew right then she had broken it. So I told Paul we needed to go in to the ER. We loaded her up in the car, and she was crying the whole time, She finally drifted off a little, but every time we would go around a corner she would cry out. I felt so horrible for her. We finally got to the ER, and they got us back real fast. Betty had passed out in the car, and when I pulled her out, she didn't wake up, when the nurse had me lay her on the scale she stirred a little cried some, but she went right back to sleep when I picked her up. She slept the whole time, until the doctor asked me to wake her up a little, and it took a minute to get her to arouse, but she finally did, and from then on she was awake the rest of the time. (I think she was going into shock) After the doctor took a look, he sent her back for an X-ray. I couldn't stay with her, and it just broke my heart. She kept saying "Mommy I want you" and I had to lay her on the table and leave. I felt so horrible. But her daddy was able to stay with her. Out in the hall way, it was even worse. She was crying and you could hear the pain and fear in her little voice.

It was almost as bad as when Samuel broke his leg, Which I couldn't go back with him to X-Ray either, because I was pregnant with Betty at the time. That was so bad, I could hear him screaming way out in the waiting room.

As soon as I saw the lady poke her head out the door I was in there. I took her from Paul and I just held her. I sang her favorite song to her. Its "Keep Trying" from Yo Gabba Gabba. After we got back to the room and Betty says she has to go potty, just then it dawns on me that She does not have a diaper on. So We get the nurse and she takes u back to the bathroom. She didn't go, I think she was just to scared, and it was awkward because she couldn't hold her self so I had to hold her. So we just pulled her pants back up and as we were walking back to the room the doctor stopped us and showed me her X-ray.
After they got it all wrapped up in the splint. The nurse gave her some suckers. And we took her home.

And about 20mins after we got home... Betty was caught climbing on the back of the couches! Kids never learn!

16 Weeks

ONLY 168 days to go

So this week we had our 3rd Doctors Appointment. I have been so nerved wracked waiting for it. Two reason 1. We got to schedule our Ultra Sound! and 2. I couldn't wait to hear that heart beat and know that everything was peachy! We finally got to go to this one on our own. Just Pauly and Me. It was so nice. We sat in the little room and waited for the doctor. When he came in we talked about medications I could take and my symptoms (which are ZERO) and some testing options, that we opted out for. After all the talk he pulled out my best friend Mr. Doppler and started panning around my stomach. It was taking him a minute, and I feel the panic creep up. But all of a sudden I felt like a plop and my stomach got a funny shape and there was baby's heart beat. In the same place as always. The doctor said "Oh baby just kindof popped up there didnt it" and we all chuckled. After that we Scheduled our ultra sound for the 16th of September!!

Other then feeling emotional and finding out that I do have some food aversions. Like Fries. Although I both Crave them and then get sick after eating them? how does that work!? haha
I have been doing really well.

Lagoon

This past Sunday we went to Lagoon with my whole family. Something that is once again turning into a yearly tradition, and I could not be happier! I didn't get to ride on hardly anything due to Little One, but that is okay. I had fun watching the kids. This was Betty's first time riding anything. I took a ton of pictures. These aren't even half, but these are the ones I really liked.

This was Betty waiting for the Lady Bug ride.
She was so excited.
I was going to ride it, but the sign said
"Lagoon highly recommends Pregnant women do not ride"
So Sabreanna took her on it for me

Aidan rode with his daddy

After going on most the kiddie rides that the adults were allowed to
They decided to take off and ride some of the adult rides
I stayed behind and let the kids ride some of the little kid rides

I just love Aidan's face in this picture.

He was in his "Driving Zone" haha

The kids decided that the boats were not as exciting as they looked.
But they sure loved the Airplanes!

This ride I was not particularly fond of
Yeah sure it looks innocent enough
a ladybug, elephant, and dragon
But looks can be deceiving
THIS THING WHIPPED AROUND
LIKE THE MUSIC RIDE ALL WHILE GOING HIGH UP IN THE AIR!
SCARED THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF ME!
A few times I thought Aidan was going to fall out.

Of course we had to go on the Carousel.
Twice
Getting 4 kids on the carousel by yourself
is not something I recommend!
The first time we rode, Aidan and Betty had to share because they were PACKED!

But the second time everyone seemed pretty happy with what they got to ride on
And I had a few extra helpers!

Samantha got stuck with the only animal that didn't move
Sad day
And back to the Lady Bug Ride

Aidan's face cracks me up here.

Dylan looks like she is having quite the fun time haha

And we re-visited the new Dragon ride.
I rode it the first time with Betty
But decided one time was enough haha

I just love Samantha's face in this one...

I love how Betty just shows no emotion
as she is being whipped around and around on this thing

We decided to take the kids on a spook house ride.
Samuel was not to happy with me.

This is Samuel trying to escape while I lifted Betty into the Cart.

Taking a family photo while waiting for the train
Look at that stinker Aidan!
Samantha's kids weren't being very cooperative either haha

Look at Betty haha

I think we had a pretty spectacular day.
And everyone was wore out to the max
The kids all slept in until almost 10am!
Can't wait to take them again!
